Unlocking Your Potential: The Benefits of Academic Coaching for Students

We firmly believe that the first thing which should be taught to any student moving from one level of education to another level is "Academic Coaching". Some call it with the name "Study Skills" as well.

By change in level of education, we mean a learner moving from higher education to graduate studies, a graduate moving to post-graduate studies, and so on.

This article summarizes what is academic coaching, its relevance and content taught in this course.

Academic coaching is a course that teaches students skills and strategies for achieving academic success. The faculty set the learning outcomes that mentions, for example, the learners are expected to "critically examine", "create knowledge", etc.

BUT do the faculty really teaches learners what does critical analysis means, what is research, what is meant by wider reading, what is meaning of co-creating/ creating new knowledge.

Even if the student is already attaining some level of success in academic skills at his prior level of education, BUT does he/she really aware of what has changed as the learner is progressing from one level to another level of the higher education. What is expected as the learner is moving from graduation to post-graduation to doctoral studies? How all of a sudden the expectation has moved from a mere "summarizing" to "analysis" to "creation"? And how to achieve this?

For this reason, we provide access to academic coaching course to each one of our learner.

The content covered in an academic coaching course may vary depending on the institution and the specific course objectives. However, below we are providing some results of our research what varied institutions are teaching in the course "Study Skills".
